- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆We visited Goose Creek in July 20113. First impression was good, so we decided to stay 2 days. I payd and parked the RV. I already wondered, why the grass wasen't mowed but thought, that they might have been busy and had no time to do it. Then a few minutes later, I discovered a true attack of small red ants. One might say, that's camping ... Ok, an argument. The so called creek behind the RV started to look more and more like a seewer and it stunk like hell. So I sent my tree kids to the pool. The pool has a water slide with some real stupid security rules. As an example: The path to mount the slide has a carpet to avoid a slipery floor which makes sense - the rule: you can't run on this thing even tough the traction is perfect due to the carpet. The result: The guard is constantly bawling at the kids because N O N E of them walks but runs! Then I experienced the most stupid rule, No swimming during Tstorms. Also a rule which absolutely makes sense to me, because it is dangerous to swim during a Tstom. The thing is DURING. We were sitting at the pool with abolute blue skies and to the west of the pool (10-20mi away) ther was a CB cell. Absolute no danger but the guard closed the pool for half an hour. Then after one day, a grumpy lady from the office calls me, because I should have left for more than 2 hours now. I told her, that this must be a missunderstanding but she wouldn't beleive me. However I told her, that this wasn't my problem and she would have to solve it. Then I went to the office with my receipt and got not a single word of an apology - just - oh the following guy was a day early. (Please note: There were at least 7 sites free!!!). So we were glad to leave the other day. To me: NEVER AGAIN. Being treated as a customer is a different thing! PS: Most of the campground are fix installed campers, I had the feeling that they do not want regular campers at all!By Moser Al, June 23, 2017
